Residents of Voronezh woke to smoke and the aftermath of a large-scale aerial attack on the night of October 25 and 26. The strike targeted critical industrial infrastructure, specifically the Voronezhsintezkauchuk rubber plant and the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, known as VASO. These facilities suffered direct hits, resulting in active fires at multiple sites.

The assault involved a massive coordinated launch. Governor Aleksandr Gusev stated that air defense units intercepted more than 70 drones directly over the city. When counting the wider urban area and surrounding districts, the total number of downed drones reached 113. This high volume of intercepts indicates a saturation attack designed to overwhelm local defenses.

VASO is part of the Ilyushin Aviation Complex within the United Aircraft Corporation. The plant manufactures aviation components and produces the Ilyushin Il-96 jet airliner. The other primary target, Voronezhsintezkauchuk, belongs to the Sibur group. This facility produces synthetic rubbers and polymer materials essential for various industrial applications. Ukrainian OSINT channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ confirmed the specific locations of the strikes.

Damage extended beyond the industrial zones. Gusev reported fires in a business centre, an apartment building, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative. He noted that damage to building facades and windows was recorded in nearly every district of the city. While Gusev described the incidents as having no significant consequences, local media and observers reported extensive structural damage.

Russian media outlet Astra provided specific details on the impact sites. They documented a drone hit on the Galereya Chizhova business centre at 35A Koltsovskaya Street. Explosions were also recorded near residential buildings at 52A 25th Yanvarya Street and 4K Arkhitektora Troitskovo Street. At the Uritsky residential complex on 135 Uritskovo Street, further damage was noted. A car park on 275/1 45th Strelkovoy Divizii Street saw at least ten vehicles caught in flames.

Residents reported hearing explosions and the sounds of air defense operations for over an hour. The city remained shrouded in smoke throughout the engagement. Many noted that no formal air-raid warning was issued before the strikes began. Local authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage to both public and private property.
